Domaine des Gravennes Côtes du Rhône
Grenache blanc, Marsanne, Rousanne, Viognier
The nose shows aromas of white peaches and sweet ripe pears, as well as white flowers. In the mouth, it is dry and full, dominated by notes of white flowers, peaches, and pears again, which brings a nice freshness. The final note reveals a slight bitterness reminding of orange peel, that makes it linger even longer.
ABOUT THE ESTATE
The story begins in the heart of the Rhone Valley, in Suze la Rousse, at the beginning of the XXth century. Alphonse PRADELLE plants his first vines on his land. In the 60s, his son Raphaël and his wife Marie-Louise give a new start to the estate. Back then, and without knowing it, they were already conducting their vineyard according to organic and biodynamic principles. In 1996, their daughter Bernadette Bayon de Noyer comes back to the estate and creates the Domaine des Gravennes. Her husband joins her five years later, and together they will replant vines and invest to modernize the winery. It is now the turn of the fourth generation to take over. In 2011, Luc is the first one to come back home, after having previously gained experience over four continents. Four years later, his elder brother Rémi will leave his career in engineering to follow his passion and join him in the vineyard.
