Romain Jambon Brouilly
Gamay Noir
This Brouilly ‘Les Vieux Ceps’ – literally meaning ‘ old vine’ – is made using a selection of the older vines of the property, average 70 years old. This creates a rich, concentrated wine, and on top of that this cuvée is aged for 12 months in non-new oak barrels to gain structure without hiding the fruitiness. This Brouilly is a great example of the capacity of the Beaujolais area to produce intense wines.
ABOUT THE ESTATE
Romain Jambon is the 4th generation of winemakers in the Jambon, but the first to have left the family property to create his one estate. In 2010, he settles in the village of Odenas and starts cultivating 7ha of Gamay Noir mostly in the Brouilly designation. Romain produces his wines in a very environment friendly way, with low intervention.
His wines are crafted in the optic of being the most natural expression of the Brouilly terroirs.
