Domaine Marchand Frères Hautes Côtes de Nuits
Pinot Noir
The aromas on the nose are those of raspberries, cherries, licorice, and even violets. In the mouth, the wine is firm and frank with lovely ripe tannins, full-bodied but not overpowering. A beautiful balance between freshness, finesse, and power.
ABOUT THE ESTATE
The estate was founded in Morey-Saint-Denis in 1813 thanks to the marriage of Pierre Marchand and Marie Jacotier. To extend the property, their descendent Claude Marchand decided to settle in Gevrey-Chambertin in 1983. Since 1999, Denis runs the estate. It now has plots in the villages of Chambolle Musigny, Morey-Saint-Denis, Gevrey Chambertin. The harvest is done manually. The fermentations are done on stainless steel vats with control of temperature, and then the wines are aged between 15 and 18 months in oak barrels with a proportion of new oak that varies according to the appellations.
