Champagne Olivier Horiot

Métisse

Pinot noir, Pinot blanc

This Champagne shows a luminescent straw color and a strong bubbling. The nose is expressive with ripe stone fruits and exotic aromas. There is a hint of wood as well. The mouthfeel is generous, with a nice fruity character. The Champagne reveals citrus aromas and an almost salty quality brought by the Pinot Blanc grape. The Pinot Noir brings acidity and freshness. This Champagne was aged on the lees for a long time which gives a nice body to it, but the result is still fine and elegant.

ABOUT THE ESTATE

Olivier Horiot is a true artisan worker of the Champagne region. Since 2000, he has settled in the Côte des Bars, in the village of Ricey-Bas where he produces fine wines of Champagne. The estate works with just 24 acres of vines, where just about 4000 bottles are produced every year, depending on the vintage. This is a unique range of still wines of Champagne, divided by plot, to express the potential of the Riceys terroir. Olivier Horiot produces also vintage Champagnewines, fermented and aged in oak barrels for a year on the lees. Always made with a majority of Pinot Noir, the wines are the expression of Ricey, which has belonged successively to both Burgundy and the Champagne region throughout the past centuries.
